Raising the UAE Flag

Today feels different.
After the call of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to raise the flag, you can feel it everywhere. Balconies, streets, skylines, people stopping for a second just to look up.
And here I am, Moduck, holding the flag… and actually feeling what it means. Not just saying it.
This flag has a story.
It was designed back in 1971 by a young Emirati, Abdullah Mohammed Al Maainah, just 19 at the time. Imagine that. A teenager creating something that would one day represent a whole country.
Four colors. Simple. But not random.
Red for courage.
Green for growth.
White for peace.
Black for strength.
You hear that a lot… but today, it hits differently.
Because this moment is not just about history. It’s about now.
It’s about a country that people trust. A place where life keeps moving, where families feel safe, where things actually work when they need to.
You don’t always notice it until moments like this.
When everyone pauses… and raises the same flag.
And that’s the thing.
The UAE isn’t just buildings or headlines or big projects.
It’s people. Different backgrounds, different stories, all standing under the same colors without overthinking it. That quiet unity… that’s the real strength.
So yeah, I’m just a duck holding a flag.
But right now, I get it.
This isn’t just something you wave. It’s something you stand behind.
