Let’s talk about logos. Not just how they look, but how they work.

A logo is often the first thing people see, and sometimes the only thing they remember. That is why simplicity matters. The best logos are clear, not complicated. Think of the Nike swoosh or the Apple symbol.



No explanation needed. You see them once, and they stay.

But simplicity does not mean easy. It takes time to reduce an idea to its essence. A good logo removes everything that is not necessary and keeps only what matters.

Now, let me shift perspective for a moment.

When you design a logo, you are not decorating. You are solving a problem. Your job is to take a business, its values, its audience, and reduce all of that into one clear visual idea. That requires thinking before drawing.

Start with understanding. Who is the brand? Who are they speaking to? What do they want to be known for? If you skip this step, the design will always feel random.

Quack, here is something many designers overlook. A logo does not live in one place. It has to work everywhere. On a website, on a business card, on packaging, on signage. It needs to be recognisable at any size, in colour and in black and white. If it breaks when you shrink it, it is not ready.

Another important point is meaning. A strong logo does not need to be literal, but it should feel right for the brand. It should reflect its tone, its audience, and its position.

Test your work properly. Make it small. Make it black and white. Place it in different contexts. If it fails in one of these, it needs refinement.

Good logos are not about trends. They are about clarity and longevity. Trends fade quickly. Strong ideas last.

And finally, be patient. Good logos are not made quickly. They are refined over time.
